Back Again

Hello all...Sorry that I have been neglecting everyone from my usless information. I was on vaca all last week so no time then for blogging and the other weeks, I guess it was just pure laziness.
Lots has been happening... Molly-Kate has totally broken herself from the binky. One day she just didn't want it anymore and that's a blessing, I have heard horrible stories about how hard it is to break the binky habit. We are trying to get the bottle to be extinct in the Firestine househould also, the days go well when mommy is not not around( yeah, I am a sucker and if she wants it bad enough she gets it, not the way to be but I am a softee) and right before bed is rough.
I have been doing alot of thinking, pondering etc. and have decided to take a new job offer up. I am really excited and more details will come at a later date. I put my 2 weeks notice in today and can already feel the stress slowly leaving my body. I must admit it is a great feeling.
Eric is doing pretty good also... he now works 4 10 hour day so every Friday he has off
(lucky ducky) and is constantly working on our new house so it is ready by the end of July.
We got our new stove and kitchen sink last night. I am so excited about the kitchen sink. I love the faucet. It has the squirty hose thing right on the faucet and you just push the button and you got yourself a squirty hose. Also, go the bath room sink and I love it too... its like granite and so nice, clean and shiny. Only thing left to do is get water heater hooked up and sinks put in, a little trim work ans waaalaaa we will be starting our lives in our new home.
We still have quite a bit of work to do upstairs and stuff but hey, at least we can live there now.
I am going to create a little before and after scrapbook of the house so I will be sure to post some pics on here at a later date.
We had a very great 4th of July weekend... We had 3 different cookouts that we attended and were able to catch up with some friends and family. Molly-Kate loved the fireworks. She would laugh and make little noises and she was on her best behavior most all of the weekend.
Well, I suppose I need to get some work done so I am closinbg for now but I can promise it will not be 4 wks. before I blog again.
Take Care until next time....

Monday Ramblin'

Happy Monday. The weekend went waaay too fast like it usually does.

We did not get as much accomplished on the house this weekend. The bathroom is one step closer thanks to Eric's friend Jason. He came over and helped install the hardware of the bathtub. He brought his little girl with him and now his new construction company's name became "Motter & Daughter Construction".
We went to Carliegh's benefit breakfast on Sat. I was so embarassed because I never thought that they only took cash so I all I had was my debit card so Holly's inlaws had to spot us. It was great seeing some friends and catching up. I hope all of our children are good friends like the parents are. All of the babies are walking expect for Miss Molly-Kate and you can see it in her little peepers that she wants to go so bad... she will get it eventually. We had a pretty good turn out at the family/friend get together for Shane. Molly-Kate played with Ben a little. It's funny because Molly-Kate crawls like a wounded soldier and Ben crawled the same exact way. Lauren (Ben's mom) and I were talking and we are trying to figure out why our babies crawl like that. Ben is a bigger baby just like Molly-Kate, they both have large heads and very short legs. We are wondering if these similarities are what make them crawl alike.
Eric went to graduation for his brother yesterday and then once he came home we all went to his softball game. They won:) I got a really cute picture of Molly-Kate and Eric @ the game last night... I am going to try to post it on here if I can figure it out.
Molly-Kate's buddy Maverick was at the game... he wanted to ride in her car and of course Molly-Kate only wanted in it when Maverick was riding in it. Typical kids... lol
We got to bed a little later than normal last night so Molly-Kate slept in until 8:30 today. We took Molly-Kate's swing down last week and even though she was way too big for the thing to even swing her anymore, that is where she preferred to take her naps so she is having a little bit of a hard time adjusting. As funny as it sounds she doesn't know how to lay on the floor, couch or anywhere else for that matter and take a snooze. She only knows to lay bed, be in the swing or be held for naps. She is getting better though. I am going to try putting the pack & play back up for her naps... that piece of baby equipment is by far not her favorite to play in but maybe to sleep she will be ok and then maybe she will go into her crib to sleep at night. Right now she sleeps with us ( I know, I know not a good thing) but when I was suffering post partum depression I would have nightmares of her smothering in her crib and to ease and give myslef piece of mind she came to our bed. Now that I feel better and she is older, she NEEDS to go to her crib but she wakes up as soon as I lay her down. She can be in the deepest sleep possible and it alwats pans out the same... she wakes up in <1>
Well time to wrap this up so I can finish up some work and blow this popcorn stand and head home.
Hope everyone has a Gr8 week.
xoxo

Catch Up....

Good Afternoon... I thought I better get on the ball and get some blogging done before the busy weekend.
All is well around the Firestine household. Molly-Kate just cut another molar so she is a little grouchy and has the WORST diaper rash ever. She has never had one before so we are caking her little bottom with lots of Bag Balm and hoping to nip this horrible rash in the bud.
Eric has had to work 10 hour days all week to make up for the missed Memorial Day holiday so there has not been much remodeling going on at the new house this week, but we are going there Sat. We have to lay plastic on all of our woodwork and windows because our walls are getting done sometime next week. There is still so much to do but we are starting to finally finish some things up.
We went there last night to meet a guy to give us an estimate on some drywall and there was a bird in our bedroom... it totally freaked me out. Eric climbed on the roof and looked all around and there is no obvious way they are getting in so now we have to do "birdie patrol" and figure out how the little pests are getting in.
Eric's cousin Shane is home from bootcamp for about 10 days. He has been gone since around the Christmas holiday. Bootcamp usually doesn't take that long to get through but he stress fractured both of his shins so he was in rehab for awhile. Some of our family got together last night and went to Cheddar's for dinner and then we are planning a little get together Sat. with friends for a bonfire/party type deal.
Eric's little brother Garret graduates this Sun. Eric is going to the ceremony but I am not.
Saturday I am not going to be able to spend much time with Molly-Kate so I decided to have the day free for her. The ceremony with probably last for like 3 hours, with the size of Findlay's graduating classes. I know mine was close to 3 hours.
After that we have a softball game, well Eric has a game and Molly-Kate and I have to go and cheer Daddy on. It's at night so it should be rather cool which I like much better than day games when it is scortching hot.
I am a little bummed... I still have not anything planted or bought for my garden. Looks like this year all I may get planted is some tomatoes. I am just busy... it seems like when I get off work that after dinner, dishes, baths, and playing with Molly-Kate or taking her for a walk it is bedtime. It just occured to me the other day that I should probably start packing the little stuff that is not used everyday and can be packed. Moving day is creeping up fast and I have NO packing done. I remember one time when I moved I had a packing party.... it's kind of looking like thats what I may need to do this time.
Well I need to get wrapping this up, I have some loose ends to tie up here at work before the weeknd. I almost forgot... I got a recipe for PB&J cupcakes that I am going to make this weekend... they sound super yummy and I am very excited to see how they are going to turn out.
Have a great weekend!

My Little Patch Of HomeGrown Goodness

As summer is growing closer and closer everyday, I have decided I am going to try and grow a garden this year. I have always wanted to but never had the space or spare time. I still do not have much spare time but I am going to make time but this year I have the perfect place for a little garden at our new house.
I LOOOOOVE tomatoes, I eat so many of them in the summer that I get canker sores from all of the acid in them. So of course in my garden I would like to grow Tomatoes , Cherry tomatoes, Cucumbers ( I don't like cucumbers but I have a good Sweet Pickle Medley recipe) and would also like to jar dill pickles, if I could find a good recipe for them. My friend in Mississippi is supposed to be forwarding me her grandmother's recipe for Dill Pickles. She and I used to eat them like crazy and I have never found a homemade dill pickle taste as good as her Grandmothers.but I am always open for new recipes I wolud also like to maybe plant some green peppers, banana peppers, green beans, and Eric wants to plant pumpkins.
The problem is... I have no idea what I am doing. I mean I know how to dig a hole and plant but I do not know when or what the temp. needs to be to plant. I also don't know if it's already too late to plant some of the items I want in my little patch of homegrown goodness. The pumpkins, peppers and beans are what I am worried about. I have tried to do research online but every site tells you something different. I am running out of time and can't keep trying to figure this out or it is going to be Sept. and I will be making my weekly trips to Suters. I would hate to spend all this money on plants or seeds and the garden just be a patch of weeds but I think my only option is going to be to wing it and plant. I am going to weed and water and drench everything in Miracle Grow and bug protector, pray and keep my fingers crossed that it grows. Wish me luck and you never know... if my garden produces I may just show up at your doorstep with a basket of fresh produce... I am be dreamin' big but it could happen.

*Update*

Just a friendly little update... The wedding I was talking about in one of my previous posts turned out very well. Eric was a groomsmen, I was a bride's maid and little Molly-Kate was a flower girl. She can't walk yet so she was pushed down the aisle in a cute flower decorated wagon. She stole the show. She waved the whole way down and heard the music being played by the organist and started dancing on her way down the aisle. She bops but we call it her dance. It is the cutest thing ever and her bopping rythym actually goes well with music.
Rehearsal was not as fun as the wedding. Molly-Kate was great in the wagon as along as she was moving. Well... she wasn't moving and I bet you can guess what happened next. While sitting still and awaiting on the preacher's directions she noticed the flowers that were on the wagon. She bent over the get the flowers and bent just a little too far over the edge and just toppled over. She tucked and rolled 3 times. I just froze with my hand over my mouth. I couldn't move to pick her up... it was like I was in shock. Needless to say it just scared her and she was perfectly fine. No bumps, bruises, or blood and it was'nt long until she was up and wanting in the wagon again.
The wedding was perfect. The bride (Eric's sister) was gorgeous! The food was amazing. It was catered from a place in Carey called Greenbriar. May I suggest this to anyone looking for a catering service anytime in the near future. I met 2 really nice girls. They were also bride's maids. One was Tiffany Beach and the other was Heather Beach... they are sisters and are the cousins of the groom. Very nice ladies and we have since became friends on Facebook so I hope we are able to keep in touch. Molly-Kate lasted until about 8ish and started to get extremly tired. Mom took her home and Eric and I were to follow about a half an hour later. I wanted to stay and help clean up a little. Good thing the wedding was on a Sun. evening because I could have seen that party lasting all night long.
I had so much going on with making sure I looked at my best and making sure Molly-Kate was perfect from hair to dress that I did not get any pictures on our personal camera but will get pictures from the photographer and as soon as I do I will post some.
We hope to get some painting done this weekend at the new house. Eric has been working at a steady pace getting the bathtub and vanity installed, then on to drywalling and flooring. Once this bathroom is finished I may just be able to see the light at the end of the looooong tunnel.
Well I need to get some work done here at the office so I am going to end for now. May I add that it's only Tues. and already feels like it should be Fri. We are looking forward to the 3day weekend ahead.

A Penny For My Thoughts...

Today is Friday, the day of the I anxiously wait for every week. I have many thoughts spinning around in my Noggin today so I hope this does'nt turn out to be one big mumbo jumbo mess.
1st... We can start with Eric is going to get our new bathtub and vanity today for our new house. I am excited. I really wanted a Vessel Bowl sink but Eric doesn't think that is feesable with Molly-Kate so I am a little bummed about that, but I guess you can't have everything.
Next, we are headed into one of the busiest weekends... Eric's sister Nicole gets married on Sun. Eric, Molly-Kate and I are all in the wedding. I am excited but fretting in the sense of Molly-Kate. It's gonna be a loooong few days for her. We have rehersal Sat. and dinner after that which means we will be creeping up on 9pm. Then up on Sun. and to the church by 1:15pm meanwhile getting all of us around. I am excited for Nicole and Jim though, weddings always make me sappy. I will try and get some good pictures of the wedding posted. Now, I am gonna jump back to the new house subject. I am starting to get really nervous that this house is never gonna be complete let alone in time for us to move in July. It just takes so much time, sweat and money. The money part is the worst because we still have to pay our high rent in Carey and all of our other household bills while trying to buy stuff for repairs and remodel at the new house. We will NEVER buy a fixer-upper again unless we have a very hefty bank account to work with.
Well enough of my babbling for now... I need to get back to work.
I hope everyone has a GR8 weekend.

Trainwreck...

This is my first blog entry and some many thinks it's silly or that I am crazy but it is on my mind so I thought I would blog about it.
I am a complete and total trainwreck when it comes to Molly-Kate.
*Example* Yesterday she had to go to the allergy doctor. They did the scratch test on her, which consists of 25 little scratches (pokes) down her back... We both just sat there and cried. She screamed I cried. Today she had to get her 1yr immunizations, I can't even go in the room, my mom does since Eric is @ work. I am supposed to be her brave, strong mother... her rock. I am no where close to a rock, I am a big pile of mush. I would control these emotions if I could but the tears just start rolling when I know my little girl is hurting or feeling pain, and the tears keep coming and coming. I just wonder if there is some kind of pep talk I can give myself or something? So in closing, *Cheers* to the women out there that can hold their composure....
